I was twice a victim of a cryptocurrency scam lead by romance trying to find the right partner. I lost about $64,000 (BTC and USDT) in the process and that funds was from my father's life insurance... Howdy! I've been working in the IT world longer than I like to admit. I've been a developer, DBA, sysadmin, release engineer, infrastructure engineer - and these days I'm a freelance consultant devops / platform engineer. Figured I should sign up here as I'm always doing something adjacent with technology and blogging about it. Might as well post that somewhere more visible that my own personal blog.
Hey everyone. Tay Payton here - I got a CS degree in 2013 but was focused on Media arts and Animation. After 10 years as a freelance illustrator and concept artist, I picked up some code in 2022 via python for automation in some projects.
As I went forward, taking my first W2 job in marketing, I've been working my way from marketing roles into tech, and just finished my first Data Engineering contract this month.
I aim to be a data-focused Backend Engineer, building scalable architecture and systems - first for enterprise and SMBS, and then for my own entrepreneurial endeavors.
Going through Boot.dev and hunting down more contract work. Excited to learn, share, and grow with everyone!
